Shoreham River Fest Run
If you are planning a great bank holiday weekend this August, why not come down to Shoreham-by-Sea on the Sussex Coast? As part of the three day Shoreham River Festival (which includes many events for all ages), on Bank Holiday Monday the 25th August 2014 you can join our local running club, Lancing Eagles, for a flat 10k race up one of the most beautiful valleys in the South East.
The River Adur has cut a wide and deep valley through the South Downs, which tower over 700 feet above it on either side. These days the river meanders slowly across a wide flood plain towards the sea, and you will follow the river North for three miles before crossing on the nationally famous South Downs Way and heading back south, into the arms of Shoreham-by-Sea; it’s restaurants, café’s, traditional pubs, modern bars and busy harbour, to say nothing of the ongoing River Festival that will still be in full swing whether you take 30 minutes to run the route or the full 2 hours!
Fully marshalled and sign-posted, with ample parking near the start and all the expertise and knowledge of a local running club to guide you safely alongside St John ambulance crews, why not come and see for yourself what this wonderful town and lively Festival has to offer? After all, running isn’t just good for your body, it is good for your soul, and running in such a beautiful location will put a skip in your step and your heart for the rest of the day!
So why not sign up for a healthy run in the morning, shower at our Race HQ (Adur Outdoor Activity Centre in Shoreham) and then finish off your Bank Holiday weekend in style at the Shoreham River Festival.
The race is supported by our sponsors:
· Basepoint Business Centres Ltd, Shoreham.
