Welcome Louise, I haven't given birth to any kids but I lost the weight equivilent to a small one over the last 18 months.

Really well done on your progress and if you can keep it up over the winter period you will have truely caught the running bug like I did. This site is one of the best around especially for us geeky statistical types who paw over hours of data and analyse everything.

........Or of course you can just enjoy it for what it is.

Hi Louise! I started back running about 1year after having my son and having 2 stone to shift! The weight just dropped off. And the most efficient form of exercise, just get your shoes on and be out and back in 30 minutes. You must be very busy having 6 children to manage, well done for finding the time!

I think the main thing is to enjoy your runs and don't worry too much about pace. Although alternateing hard and easy sessions makes it a bit more interesting and challenging! I didn't know what a tempo run was or that it existed before I joined good run guide!! I have got faster but am still a plodder and probably always will be.

Good luck with your training!

Hi Louise,
Welcome aboard.

You'll find that we're a friendly bunch on here. And you'll always be given plenty of support and advice about this, that and the other.

You seem to be making fantastic progress so far so keep up the good work. 1st 4lbs is excellent in a short space of time, well done you !
