Race Guide
Wirral Half Marathon
Date / Time
Length
13.10 miles (21.1 km)
Description
Following the unfortunate cancellation of the Marathon a new Wirral Half Marathon and 10K event has been proposed for the existing marathon date, Sunday 13th October.
The plan is to use the existing structure of the course between Birkenhead Park and New Brighton but have runners running in one direction only and avoiding the residential roads between Church Road and Rowson Street. This will be achieved by passing along the promenade from the Wallasey Ferry as far as New Brighton and then past Perch Rock and along Ian Fraser Walk behind the new Marine Point retail park.
The 10K finish will be as last year on Coastal Drive and half marathon runners will continue along the Coastal Walk promenade before returning to pass the Derby Pool and a loop on King’s Parade.
