It's the 42nd annual Gatliff Marathon in on Saturday 17th October. It's a timed running, walking, or a bit of both 25 or 50km cross country course with a ten hour cut off. The meticulously planned route is mainly along paths and bridleways in beautiful Kent, with marshalled and catered check points en route. Full step-by-step printed instructions are provided, also a Certificate for within-time finishers, changing facilities and showers, and hot food and drinks at the finish.  The simple instructions provided  will occasionally refer to an OS Explorer map with a bearing given, and, of course, GPX which is posted on our web site well before the event. There's plenty of parking and even a basic camp site nearby at Gabriel's Fishery.  The organisers of the event are COPSE, Croydon Outdoor Pursuits and Social Events, a long standing, non-commercial club.
