Race Guide
Ely Tri Club Runfest
Date / Time
Length
6.21 miles (10.0 km)
Description
Returning for 2026 the Ely Tri Club Runfest offers a choice of distances ranging from 10k to 66k, all of which start and finish at the iconic 11th century cathedral before taking in more of the beautiful historic city of Ely and heading out into the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Most of the course involves quiet, flat, traffic free paths along the banks of the rivers Great Ouse and Cam and their adjacent fens (there's only one short, gentle climb through Cherry Hill Park in the entire race). Those running the marathon and ultra get the added bonus of a trip through the Wicken Fen nature reserve, home to more than 9,000 species, including Konik ponies, cattle, birds and rare plants.
This is a low key, friendly event which welcomes adult runners of all ages and abilities. With a few obstacles (steps, stiles, cattle grids etc) along the way, the routes are perhaps better tailored for adventure, fun and stamina rather than PBs. But whatever your pace or goal there'll be plenty of food/drink stations and enthusiastic marshal support throughout.
You can access entry details, locations, logistics, course information and past results by visiting the Ely Tri Club web site (www.elytriclub.co.uk). Alternatively, you can go right ahead and book your place in the Runfest 2026 event with Let's Do This (www.letsdothis.com) and searching for Ely Tri Club Runfest 2026.
