Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, & Juniors Presented by Nuun Hydration on Sunday 3rd May 2026

We are excited to announce the Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k will return on Sunday 3rd May 2026!

These ROAD CLOSED courses take in the famous landmarks of Gateshead including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and finishes in the iconic Gateshead International Stadium.

Gateshead International Stadium is the third largest sporting venue in Tyne and Wear and the North East’s only IAAF-standard athletics stadium. The venue has hosted IAAF Diamond & Golden League Athletics and the European Cup featuring the superstars of athletics. You will be joining many World Champions & Olympians have crossed the finish line at Gateshead International Stadium where five world records broken in track and field on the famous track.

 Race Distance & Start Times

09:00 am - Marathon

09:25 am - Half Marathon & 10K

13:00 pm - Junior Race

This ROAD CLOSED course takes in the famous landmarks of Gateshead including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse ICM, BALTIC,Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and finishing in the iconic Gateshead International Stadium and finishing by running around the track and crossing the finish line cheered home by family and friends.

**There is a 6 hour cut off  due to road closures**
