The Manchester Half is an event that aims to truly represent all the wonderful people of Manchester, and celebrate our achievements.

Since its launch in 2016 it has received rave reviews from participants, thanks to its professional delivery, flat route and amazing support from crowds around the course.

The route contains a brand new section through Manchester City Centre, alongside many favourite sections from previous years through Trafford. The event village will be located at Lancashire County Cricket Club, with the start line around a 10 minute walk away.

The route will be officially measured by an independent body, and a certificate issued to ratify the official Half Marathon distance.

The most common entry type is the individual entry however, we do offer packages which give you a little more bang for your buck! The Supersonic package offers you the opportunity to receive every photo taken of you at the event, plus a personalised medal insert featuring your name and time. This is along side the standard benefits of chip timing (and text when you cross the line) and a personalised bib.

We also accommodate and welcome both Elite and Para athletes. 

ELITE ATHLETES

The Manchester Half would like to invite elite runners to take part free of charge. The course is a very flat course giving a fantastic opportunity to get a very fast time.

To qualify for Elite Entry into the Manchester Half 2020, you will need to have achieved:

- Male: 1:09 (half marathon) in the last two years, or the equivalent performance over another distance

- Female: 1:19 (half marathon) in the last two years, or the equivalent performance over another distance

PARA ATHLETES

We have a disabled athletes access point at the start area, to allow easier access for disabled athletes to enter the race. 

Who can enter?

We welcome all Para Athletes, including assisted wheelchairs and racerunners.

Please note, we do not currently allow hand-cycles to enter our running races.

Assistant/Guides

If running with a guide/assistant please let us know and we can issue you with one free place.

Wheelchair racers

Wheelchair racers will start at the front to be set off at 08:55am, before the main race at 9:00am.

Please note; to enter into this race you must have a racing wheelchair and complete within 1 hour 20 Minutes.
