Try an exciting adventure race around Midsomer Murders territory! It’s around the streets, alleys and parks of Thame (filmed as “Causton”) and you’ll see plenty of filming locations during your run.
An orienteering race is a staggered start run with a difference - there is no set route! For an added challenge, you must navigate your way around the course, between each checkpoint marked on a map, choosing your own route between each one.
You can pre-enter via the website or Facebook page (it’s cheaper!) or just come along and enter on the day, any time between 9.30am and 11.30am and we'll get you started if you've not been orienteering before. Chip timing, staggered starts (1min) - you can start a course any time up to midday. Courses close at 2pm. Just £13.50/£7.50 entry on the day (for long/short courses respectively), or £5.50 for solo juniors.
Your entry fee includes a special waterproof map which you can keep as a souvenir, plus a print out of your splits and result at the finish.
The courses will take you around the complex streets, paths, alleys and parks of Thame. Junior courses are around Cuttlebrook Nature Reserve. A compass may be handy to bring, but we can always lend you one if needed.
Various courses for runners, and also families and children, up to 8k (however this is a straight line distance measured between the control points and you'll run further!). Email us for more info or check out our website/Facebook page: www.tvoc.org.uk or www.facebook.com/tvoclub
