The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K is set to return in 2018 on Sunday 20th May along with the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 2k.
With 2,500 runners of all abilities expected to descend on Caerphilly from across the country to enjoy the event, we are looking to the 2018 event to be bigger and better.
Set in the shadow of the spectacular Caerphilly Castle, the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k will both start and finish on Crescent Road. Runners will have the opportunity to run a good time on a relatively flat course with some undulating points. The course will lead participants in and around the town centre, passing iconic landmarks including the giant cheese sculpture and Tommy Cooper statue along the way and offering great views of the medieval castle, which dominates as the stunning backdrop to the event.
The course record was set by Owain Jones in 2016 who passed the finish line at in 31 minutes and 3 seconds and many elite and competitive entrants are expected to try and take on the record for 2018.
The event is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council, sponsored by Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel and Spa and is supported by Welsh Athletics, Run Wales and Sport Wales.
