The Mystery Tour consists of::
Part 1: A guided trail run of about 8 miles around some wonderful trails in the South Derbyshire countryside,
immediately followed by;
Part 2: A race around the same 8 mile route.
The route will be a complete mystery before setting off for Part 1.
What’s the point? ....you may ask!
Well.......... it’s an opportunity to:
-
Socialise with our team and your fellow runners while we run the route at a pace that is comfortable for everyone
-
Enjoy this wonderful area, not once, but twice!
-
Take part in a self navigation race with the advantage of knowing where you’re going; assuming you paid attention first time around
-
Do a long run, with negative splits; something that is great training if you’ve got a spring marathon or other long event coming up.
How will it work?
The first lap will be led by our team of experienced trail runners, who will show you the route and point out any key points to remember. The group will be split into pace groups as necessary, but the emphasis will be on running at a comfortable pace, enjoying the surroundings and views along the way.
You’ll be provided with a map of the route, to help you navigate the second time around. There will also be the option to run with one of our guides again too, if you are nervous about navigating/remembering the route. The guide(s) will run at a pace that is comfortable for everyone in their group though, so don’t expect to be paced to a race victory.
