Race Guide
Brill Common Orienteering Races

Date / Time
Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
Length 3.11 miles (5.0 km)
Description

Thames Valley Orienteering Club invites you to try an off-trail run with a difference - it’s a race with no set route!

There’ll be several courses, up to 5k, and no experience is necessary. You’ll receive a special map showing your course, consisting of a series of checkpoints. At each point around the woods, you’ll find a marker flag. The challenge is to race between the checkpoints, using your map to choose your route between them and registering them with an electronic timing chip. They might be on paths, or around the woods. Expect some mud, stream crossings and a lot of fun! When you return to the finish, your timing chip will be downloaded and you’ll receive a print out of your result & splits.

It’s also a great family activity - we’ll have shorter courses for children & families.  Just turn up any time from 10am to 11.30am and enter on the day. Start a course any time up to midday.
