North Dorset Village Marathon

Date / Time
Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
Length 26.20 miles (42.2 km)
Description

The North Dorset Village Marathon is turning 10 years old in 2018. Why not come and help the Dorset Doddlers running club celebrate by running 26.2 miles of stunning Dorset scenery? With a race limit of 400 runners don’t miss out on the chance to run one of Dorset’s (and maybe the countries) most picturesque marathons. Starting in the traditional market town of Sturminster Newton, the runners will take in the villages of Hinton St. Mary, Marnhull, Stalbridge, Todber, Stour Row, Margaret Marsh, West Orchard, Farrington, Child Okeford and Hammoon. The finishing straight will see the runners cross the line along the old railway line back in Sturminster Newton. Perhaps you have a competitive streak? Course records currently stand at 2:36:37 for the men’s race, and 3:02:54 for the ladies.

Of course running a full marathon is not for everyone. We also have a relay race; with 40 teams consisting of a maximum of 4 runners. So share the running with friends or family! Once you have crossed the line, you will be treated to our famous hog roast (vegetarian and vegan options available) as well as live music. The Dorset Doddlers look forward to welcoming you to the North Dorset Village Marathon!
