Aspire are very pleased to announce the date of the next annual Railway River Run starting from Avon Valley Railway (Bitton Station) There will be the option of either a 11k or 6k race available on the morning of Saturday 11th March.

 

Sadly this event is not Canicross Friendly.

Course description:

A stunning multi terrain course that will be held on traffic free Railway Path and the trails of both the River Avon and the Monarch’s Way. The course is flat and will be suitable for all standards of runner.

 

The 11k begins on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path before branching off to take in some absolutely beautiful off road trails. When you get back to the Railway Path you will turn right and do a 2nd loop of this off road section before finally taking a left for the final stretch on the Railway Path to the finish. All this whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings of the Avon Valley, with amazing views of the Bath Skyline.

 

The 6k will take in exactly the same course as above but will not take in the 2nd loop of the off road course and will go immediately left on the Railway Path to the finish.

 

Start times:

 

11k will start at 9:00am (all runners) 6k will start at 9:15am.

 

Prices:

11k – Affiliated £14 Unaffiliated £16 (Aged 17 and over)

6k – Affiliated £12 Unaffiliated £14 (Aged 15 and over whilst accompanied by a responsible adult)

 

Registration will open for entrants to collect their race numbers from 8am on the day. This will be held under a marquee on the green grass beside the main railway building. Marshalls and signage will guide you to the Collection Point from the car park.

 

There is limited free car parking for about 70 cars, so where possible please consider car sharing please. *Note* There will be NO on street car parking allowed directly outside the Railway Station approach road on the day. Alternatively, there will be on street parking available in the surrounding area. Please allow adequate time to park and register for the event.

 

All participants will receive a medal for finishing.

 

The event will be timed.

 

There will be 11k trophies for the following categories:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall male and female
  • 1st Senior male and female
  • 1st Male and female Vet 40
  • 1st Male and female Vet 50
  • 1st Male and female Vet 60+
  • 1st Male and female Under 20

 

There will be 6k trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall male and female.

 

 

This event will be fully marshalled and First Aid will be on standby throughout the event.
