Aspire Running Events Ltd are pleased to announce the first of two events at Old Down Estate in 2017.

This event will be held on Sunday 9th April and will include a 10/5k (1 loop 5k, 2 loop 10k) race plus Family Fun Runs, which will include an all ages and abilities 1k and our free under 5’s 50m dash.  

Course description:

5/10k – Multi terrain – Flattish/Undulating 1k/50m – On grass within Old Down’s Adventure Park (Both fun runs are buggy friendly)

50m – 10am

1k – 10:10am

5/10k – 10:30am (All runners)

Prices:

10k – £14/£16 (Minimum age of 15, if accompanied with a responsible adult)

5k – £12/£14 (Minimum age of 12, if accompanied with a responsible adult)

1k – £6 (All ages and abilities - Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to run with their child/children free of charge)

50m – Free! (Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to run with their child/children if they so wish)

An exciting and exhilarating off road, 10/5k multi-terrain course for the more experienced runner. It begins within the idyllic grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading out for a superb 1.5 mile woodland section which can become very muddy and challenging!! The course then takes in some fantastic open space before heading back into the woods for an uphill section leading back into the park. Then the course takes in the amazing grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading to the finish line. 10k runners will reacquaint themselves with this challenging course for a second time)

Registration will open at 9am for competitors to collect their race numbers on the day.

At 10am the fun begins. The 1k and the under 5’s 50m races will be completed before the 10/5k races begin.

All finishers (including the 50m entrants) will receive a medal.

There will be 10k prizes for the following categories:

Male and Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd

overall Senior Male & Female

Male & Female Vet 40

Male & Female Vet 50

Male & Female Vet 60+

Male & Female Under 20

There will be 5k winner’s trophies for:

Male & Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall

This event will be race timed, fully marshalled and First aid will be in attendance throughout.

There will be a half way water/nibble table for the 10k runners. The finishers table will be laden with our usual treats, including fruit and cake!

All entrants and spectators will have free access and entry to the Country park.

There will be plenty of free parking, toilet facilities and there will be hot/cold food and beverages available for purchase at either the Sheppard Hut or the amazing café.
