Race Guide
Terry Wootton Roade Triathlon
Date / Time
Description
This popular pool based sprint triathlon event has seen full entry of 600 competitors by early September - so enter early to avoid disappointment! Not only is this our final triathlon event of 2017, it’s also the end of many triathletes' racing seasons and the start of others' triathlon careers. So what can you expect from your last race of the year?
You’ll find over 100 novice triathletes taking part in their first ever triathlon (if you're racing in your first triathlon you might want to check out our New To Triathlon section). You'll find plenty of experienced triathletes chasing PBs to finish the year on a high note. There’ll be a great party atmosphere as we play host to many UK triathlon club championships. Expect some fast racing times as more and more individuals each year go under the hour.
After an unusual 414m swim, competitors exit the pool and transition to the 2-lap 20km bike course with its gentle undulations through the Northamptonshire villages of Roade and Stoke Bruerne. The sprint triathlon is brought to a conclusion with an out-and-back (twice) 4.5km run route that brings competitors back on site after the first out-and-back, finishing with a lap of the school field and a long run in to the focal finish area. Once finished, triathletes will be able to relax and soak up this unique event's atmosphere.
