Hi All,

Ive just been out for my first run in over 6 months. No excuses just havent really been wanting to, but after gaining a little more weight than I should i've decided its time to get back out there.

Just run 2 miles in 22 mins, so not fast but I was happy with how i felt. Last half mile was a little hard but about what I expected. Got a way to go before Im back to where I was 2 years ago, but i determined to get there.

Well done John.  Its the mental decision to get out there that can be the hardest!   You've done it before so you have a head start.  Just think of all those new PB's you can set on the way!

Well done Liz - its getting out for those first few runs after a break that can be the hardest thing to.  Hope you manage to keep going - you'll soon be geting some PB;s !

Yes it does feel good doesn't it! and so encouraging to  have enough residual fitness to do achieve such a good time even after a 5 months break!  I hope you get some new PBs soon.

After having to stop and start for the past 6 months I finally feel like I'm back.  First run today has been one of my slowest but it still made me happy :)

That's a great move Phil - I find the communal element of ParkRun makes it so much more enjoyable and easier to stick with.
