Thanks Mike.

We have a fitness trainer at work who could run through some core strengthening exercises with me. Time for new trainers as well i think. good excuse to spend some money.

Thanks for your time.

Hi - it could be your shoes are getting low on miles and might be worth getting them checked and your gait along with it. Your day job would benefit if you could do some core strengthening work as well....!

Hi Mike

Sorry for delay in posting i have been away for a bit.

You have hit on a good point about when i tire, because i am always trying to push myself that extra mile. I do about twenty miles a week (2 Five miles and 1 Ten mile) My trainers have done about 4 Hundred miles now and they are the best fitting trainers i have bought. I don't do any strengthening exercises . I am a postman so i do a lot of walking as well.

Best Regards

Alan

Not much to go on there Alan!

How long is long? What other mileage are you doing? How long have you had your trainers (miles you have run in them?)

Do you lean back when running? Do you bang your heels in when running? Do you have one leg longer than the other?

Do you do any core strengthening exercises - if you have a weak core then as you tire, your pelvis will drop and hence the pain.

I could go on but you get the drift.....be more specific and we might hit upon the answer.

Good luck with the diagnosis.

Hi guys,

When I go on a long run I sometimes (not all the time) get a pain below my knee. Just before the pain occurs I get discomfort in my hip. The funny thing is when I stop the pain disappears and its like nothing is wrong. Has anybody had the same problem?

Best Regards

Alan
