Hi Lisa,

Are you using an iPhone?  To add the GRG Mobile app icon to your Home Screen, go to m.goodrunguide.co.uk (without the usual www) in Safari and then click the centre button at the bottom of the screen and select Add to Home Screen.

Hi,  I've tried to load this on my Noka N8 smartphone and have saved it as my home screen.  However, I can't seem to get it to work and it is constantly searching for GPS, despite the GPS working perfectly normal for other apps like maps - any ideas? :-)

Hi Gill,

I don't think the pre-installed browser on the N8 supports gelocation.  Native apps don't use the browser so will be getting the GPS signal in a different way - our GPS Stopwatch is a web app so runs in the browser.  I'm pretty certain that Opera Mobile now supports gelocation, so you could try downloading that to tour phone and using the app in Opera Mobile instead.  This is the download link for Opera Mobile.

Hi Julz,

The app should work OK with an Android phone but it may be that locations services are not fully enabled in your settings.  Have a look at the following on your phone:

  • Main Device Menu - Location & Security, tick Use GPS Satellites.

  • Main Device Menu - Privacy, tick Use My Location.

  • Browser Menu - More, Settings, tick Enable Location.

Hope this helps.

Thanks John, I finally got it figured out when I got the wifi enabled and refreshed everything, then it asked to enable location. It seems to be working now, but had to be online and in GPS mode at the same time for some reason. I will try it for definate on the bus on the way home without the wifi on lol!

Thanks!

Hi,

I've given up with the Nokia N8 and have never successfully managed to get GRG Mobile to work on it.  I'm considering changing my phone to a Samsung Galaxy III S - anyone aware of any problems with GRG mobile on this handset or has it been successul?
