Hi guys

as you thought my new trainers were "supports" rather than "neutrals".  I have done a couple of shorter runs without any trouble and if anything seem to have a better running style already.  thanks for your tips and comments

Ive brought two pairs from a so called running shop at a cost of nearly £200 and both pairs had to be retired early as they gave me blisters and achillies tendon pain. shops were no help. I now buy from online shops or high street shops and they are fine. I will never trust a running shop again.

Yup - been there unfortunately! In my case the other way round though, I bought my first pair from a general sports store without analysis and wrecked my calf on my first run. Went for an analysis etc and bought a second pair (different shop) and did 500 miles successfully. By then my gait had changed and I found I could tolerate the "old" new ones that had been used once!

Moral of the story: it could be that the old ones were so knackered that you had adapted to them. My suggestion: persevere with the new ones but do a few shorter runs to see if they break in a bit. If not - back to the shop with the receipt and get another member of staff to check (with a view to a swap)

Hi all, i've been running for just over a year with a pair of reeboks from the JJB running section.  I've decided to up my running and plan a few longer runs/races so invested in a pair of trainers from a specialist running shop, having had my gait analysed.

Having done my first run in them today, my legs are killing me!! I am hoping/assuming that this is just because the trainers are better and more supportive and force me to run slightly different.

has anyone else had this or should i consider changing the trainers??

cheers
