Derek - Oh yes, cake!

I hope you've been training, mate - new shoes and a go-faster haircut and I smashed my PB!

I'm not sure whether to run or volunteer next week - which will be most fun?!

Everyone's asked to wear green if they can, and to bring a friend... we're hoping to break our 179 record (177 today). There'll also be various prizes handed out. Mary even managed to get the Tea Room lady to agree to put tables outside for us!

Rachel - your experience seems to mirror that of so many parkrunners! I ran at Roundhay on my birthday, event #7, which happened to be their 'runfree' event (it must have been a bit warm running in PJ's), and yes, it was very well organised and well attended. Not a PB course, but a lovely one, and the encouragement is really helpful on that 'little incline' as they call it!

I hear on the grapevine that there'll be a parkrun in Stafford very soon.

Anyway, must sign off, I'm late for a party!

Cake Dave....you mentioned CAKE!!!!

I have a 10k race in Northampton the following day, so I could be up for a spot of volunteering on that day, I'll put my name down.

Cannon Hill parkrun 1st birthday 27 August - there'll be cake!

Andy - it's nice that they have an event specially for the more mature ladies. Oh, sorry - thought you said Old Dear!

I wish there was a parkrun in York. Anyone fancy starting up Rowntree parkrun? Or do I have to move back and do it myself?!

Ran Old Deer parkrun (Park parkrun?) at Richmond upon Thames yesterday, and I have to report it was a flat (only 3 metres per mile climb), 3 lap course  on mown grass all the way. 5 right angle turns each laps slowed the course down a bit. Just over 30 runners turned up of all standards. Worth a go if in the area.

I thought Mo looked faster on the tele, perhaps they speed the VT up and his real time is over 23 minutes for a 5k, smoke and mirrors?

Did anyone notice that FlyMo Farah ran at Bushy parkrun this week?

He jogged around with his wife Tania in about 23½ mins, but 'funnel-ducked' and didn't take a time!

I'm running Colwick parkrun in Nottingham this weekend - anyone else? Anyone know what the course is like? It looks flattish, but the surface is a bit varied apparently, so maybe not a PB course?

Hi

I ran my first park run in Huddersfield on saturday. I had never heard of it until I found this site and  would recommend it to any beginner. It was a great motivator and every one was very friendly. I did better time than I ever do when I run alone. Being a new runner I was a bit worried everyone would be so much quicker than me but I found it was great for all speeds and will go again.

Thanks Keith but unfortunately its not possible to download these maps direct from the parkrun site. I have been told that the GPX files of the routes are not kept centrally, but perhaps the individual parkruns organisers hold these? We would like to have more of these routes so that members can calculate their GRG age graded percentages to compare against other types of races and also to join in the leagues if they wish. I'll look into the Crystal Palace route.

Hi. We still have many more parkrun routes to add to the site. Does anyone have a map/gps for any of the routes that we don't already have? If you do, please either contact me or share it as a race route via the 'recommend a route' option. Thanks. Louise
