Hi All,

Hope you all had a great xmas and a happy new year. Just been out for my first run in nearly a month and OMG it was almost like starting again for the first few miles but then seem to settle down into a good flow and finished feeling strong. Good pace at 9.05 per mile. Happy with that, just need to build distance stead over the next couple of months ready for my next 1/2 marathon.

When's your HM John, spring?

I did next to nothing for a couple of weeks mid to late December, but managed to clock 27.4M last week, including a 5-mile race. I did 8 miles yesterday, but it was a struggle just to get out of the door!

I'm racing nearly every weekend for a while, over some distnace or other, generally 5km to 12km, but will probably slot a half and/or full mara in in the spring.

Hope your training continues well.

hi dave and john, just wanted to add that like you guys, i have just completed two 3.2 mile runs this week after weeks missing because of the snow and then settling in to crimbo with all the trimmings! OMG about sums it up! Hoping to continue now on 3 or 4 runs a week and build up some endurance again. I got it in my mind that i will try and get fit enough to do a 27 mile run in April and see how i get on. Got a training plan so will see how i get on....gulp....good luck with your runs.

Hi Dave,

My 1/2 marathon race is not until September but would like to be running that sort of distance by again by end of March. My goal this year is to increase my overall distance i run during the year to 450 miles and to complete the HM in 1hr 50mins. I know it not record breaking time but i would be very happy with that.

Kieron, 27 miles is some distance mate. Good luck and i hope you achive it.

Don't do yourself down, Mark - 1:50 is more than respectable!

Its getting harder. Just been out again and ran 3.5 miles and really struggled, although i was pretty rough over the weekend with some sort of bug. Gonna up my runs from now on to 4 a week and hopefully a few forest runs. Roll on the spring.

Hi Keith,

I no how you feel mate. I always seem to be ill just when ive decided to start a training schedule. Im off out again tonight, although still not feeling 100% but cant keep put it off. I will stick with my 3.5m route for a couple of weeks just to build back up then hopefully towards the end of Jan start pushing a bit further.

Hi All,

Ran my normal 3.5 miles again last night and it was much better. Felt great from start to finish and whilst it wasn't a PB for that distance i did knock 1min 25 of my last time. Out again Friday night and hopefully another improvement.
