I've been wondering the same recently Vicky. I've noticed it's more prominent since I've had my new watch (FR220 vs FR610).

It does make more sense that the mile markers are more accurate when plotted on a "real" map rather than by GPS.

When I record runs on my garmin, at the time it beeps every mile and gives me my pace.  On uploading my run however it often changes the length of the splits though as changes them to either shorter or longer than a mile slightly which then changes my average pace for those splits.  Can you tell me why this is pleae? This is on all runs whether routes that are already saved, or new routes measured whilst I was running.

Thanks
