A little bit off-topic here, but another type of goal completed for me. Did my Leader in Running Fitness course yesterday. At my club we do a 'Run for fun' course for beginners, basically supported groups, volunteers taking them out on a system similar to C25K. Last Saturday was the end of the last group, and I'm delighted to say that they ALL managed to complete the Conwy parkrun, with times varying from 26 min up to 40 min.

Utterly proud of them all, especially the lady who asked me to pace her on the day, as she really wanted sub-30 minutes. She made it in 29:56 !

Anyway, as of today those that want to are 'invited' to join the club properly, and we will be starting the continuation programme for them. The next goal being for them to be able to run for 1 hr / 10k, and the target for that being 12 weeks away.

Under 45 min for the 10K, haven't ran a 10 mile before so not thought about that one, and under 1h44m for the half

Roland, well done on the PBs so far. that marathon will come.

I have this week started the Hal Higdon intermediate half plan, so fingers crossed. I have a park run planned for 3 weeks time, followed by the Derby 10k 3 weeks after, Burton 10mile 4 weeks after that. then hopefully the Ramathon half beginning of June.

Antony - what a nightmare. Had a similar thing happen last year at a 10k - amazing that they can get it wrong. Try not to let it annoy you - if you had your pacing right you know you can do it next time.

Ian - terrific! If you're feeling good on a flat 10k course, go for it! Maybe get the Parkrun in the bag first so you've got the confidence at the pace?

A quick (and slightly immodest) update from me - have got new 10k PB (44.30) and half PB (1.36) so far - just marathon to go. 8-O

i`ve just achieved my first goal of a sub 1.45 half at coventry, now looking for a sub 22 mins at park run, sub 44 mins at 10 k

park run should be achievable but the 10k is gonna be a struggle.

and also get down to 10 stone,

Agreed, that is very annoying.

We did the Malta half marathon a couple of weeks back, and even though I'm just a plodder (did it in 2:17:28), I'd be gutted if a race was found to be 'short' after the event.

For me, it's onwards to the Chester half in May, where I want sub 2:15, with a hankering for sub 2:10 (hell, we can all dream!)

Looks like the flat equivalent is full distance!

Just had a look - seems it has been measured by someone using GRG, and it seems it came out as 12.66 miles, with a flat equivalent of 13.13 miles (not sure if the club measurement was done before or afterwards)

Yes I bet you are but have you measured the route by hand on the site?  Did they have an official course measurement?  Sometimes Garmins aren't perfect!

Well done!  Which one was it?  What's your next in the list?
