Did my 10th parkrun this morning, my 5th at Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park (2 Solihull Brueton Park, 2 Leeds Hyde Park and 1 Coventry War Memorial Park). I wouldn't normally mention it here, but I can't resist broadcasting my NEW PB! Not just a Cannon Hill PB, or even a parkrun PB but my 5km PB! Finally under 20 mins, and a nice red 'tick' against one of my GRG goals. Returning to Coventry parkrun next week for their 1st birthday party - I'll be taking it easy, though, as I have a 5-mile race the next day. Parkrun, eh? Brilliant! |

Why not crow about a new pb? Great to have success stories on here. Also, I see you are up to 20th in the Fastest Runner League so all good and a great way to start the weekend! What is the course like? |

Well, I have to admit a bias, as I'm 'on the team' and have been since Cannon Hill parkrun's inception, but I do like the course - it's pretty flat and pretty fast, and the park is lovely - a long-time haunt of many runners. But then I'm sure all parkruns are in lovely places - that's what parks are about, after all! I just checked my records, and I've still volunteered more often than run - 11 times at Cannon Hill and once at Brueton (just before Cannon Hill started). We won't stop til there's a parkrun everywhere ! |

Well done Dave getting under 20 mins, keep it up as I'm on your tail as you are on the same 'manor' as me and in the same age group... so if you hear someone wheezing and coughing behind you at a local race, beware!!! |

No PB for me but a major result to get within 30 odd seconds of my best time at Basingstoke as I couldn't train at all last week with a hip injury. Age graded score of 73% so I am pleased with that. Time was 22:05 - not too bad at age 61..... Whew, no reaction means I can get back to training. |

Thanks, Derek - I look forward to beating, er, I mean meeting you on the local circuit! If you happen to roll up at Cannon Hill any time ask any of the regulars to point me out, I'm usually there, either running or volunteering (often operating the timer). Well done Mike - just be careful you don't do yourself further injury! Seriously though, that's a very respectable time. PB next week? Keep spreading the parkrun word! |

I discovered Parkrun a few weeks ago, what a great idea, have done three in a row so I am hooked. I did Crystal Palace on Saturday as well Keith, should be back there in a couple of weeks. |
