Problems viewing Google Maps

If you are having problems viewing Google Maps most issues can be fixed by one doing one of the following:

a) Refresh the page (CTRL+F5)

b) Close and restart your browser

c) Restart your Router (switch it off and on again)

However, if these steps does not resolve the problem, please look at the following suggestions.

1. Your browser's Cache may be currupt

If you have used Google Maps successfully before on your computer we would recommend deleting your browser's cache as this may have been currupted. To do this:

Internet Explorer - Select Tools then Internet Options. If you have Version 7, 8 or 9, click on Delete under Browsing History and then Delete Temporary Internet Files. If you have version 6 click on Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.

Firefox - Select History, Clear Recent History, tick Cache and untick the other boxes, select Everything for the time range and click Clear Now

Chrome - Select Options, Under the Hood, Clear Browsing Data, tick Empty the Cache and untick the other boxes, select The Beginning of Time for the time period and click Clear Browsing Data.

2. Update your Browser

If you are not using the latest version of your browser we would recommend that you update it as later versions tend to encounter fewer problems. In particular, if you are using Internet Explorer version 6 we would recommend that you download version 8 (available from here) as most problems are encountered using Internet Explorer version 6.

3. Your IP Address could have been blocked by Google

You can check this by clicking here. If you see a small square satellite map this is not the problem. If not, click here for more information.

4. Your Computer or Firewall settings could be preventing access
