OUCH. That will be a tough one! But rewarding too I'm sure. Enjoy. :-)

Good luck Martin - the training for a marathon really feels like a journey and it's an exciting feeling when the end is in sight. Which marathon are you doing?

Hi Gareth - sorry to have missed this post first time round. Doing a marathon is a different experience from doing a half; it does need more training and commitment, but the rewards are also greater (in my opinion!)

Personally I would always advise someone to consider aiming for a marathon, but be aware that it's a big challenge and different from a half. It's hard to predict a time, but if you're running a half in 2.10, then 4.30 is definitely realistic if you put the training in.

Best of luck - if I can celebrate my 60th with a 2.10 half marathon, I'll be a very happy man indeed!
