OVERVIEW

Rutland Water is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Europe and is located in Rutland, England’s smallest county. Rutland Water was built in the 1970's to supply water to the growing populations and industry in the East Midlands utilising water from the lower reaches of the Nene and Welland. Normanton Church was saved from the water when the reservoir was created and now is situated on an island of its own.
Inside there is a museum for which there
is a small admission charge.

Went over to this one earlier this week. Had the car broken into, fortunately they didn''t get anything worthwhile but be wary of using the car parks and/or parking elsewhere. Nice route though.

Hiya I ran this route on 27 Jan while in the area. What a stunning route, some beautiful scenary, and the finish along the side of the dam was a real test......with such a strong wind blowing across the water. Thanks for posting this run, will definately do it again, hopefully the sun will be shining to enhance the great surroundings.
