OVERVIEW The 'old' Summer Time Trial Route in Thorndon Park. Start and finish at the Lion Gate Pen Y Ghent is one of Yorkshire's famous Three Peaks the others being Whernside and Ingleborough. People frequently start this walk from Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-ghent Cafe as a challenge in under 12 hours. By contrast the record for the Three Peaks Fell Race is a sprightly 2 hours 46 minutes for the 24 mile route. |
