OVERVIEW The area at the start and finish is known as Three Mills for obvious reasons. Two survive today ,the Clock Mill and House Mill. The Domesday Book, finished in 1086, recorded 7 mills on the River Lea in Stratford. These were tidal mills relying mainly on the rise and fall of the tides to drive the waterwheels. |
