OVERVIEW

Epping Forest was the hideout and haunt of the famous highwayman Dick Turpin who was a poacher, burglar, robber and murderer. Born in Essex in 1705 he was hanged at the age of 34 back in 1739. No need to 'Stand and Deliver' today as the last mounted robbery was back in 1831.
