Back for 2016 and again leaving from the very impressive Groombridge Place - a moated manor house dating back to 1662 and home to the Bennet Family in Joe Wright's film adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, "Pride and Prejudice".
Soak up the Garden of England in this end of the summer season trail run. Not too hilly but rolling enough to keep your heart rate up and with some more technical sections, your mind will be elsewhere! The Maverick Original Kent is a real treat. With varying terrains from the impressive Harrison's Rock, which looks like it's straight out of a theme park, to the more open heathland of White Hill Down and the woodland of the RSPB Broadwater Nature Reserve.
We can't think of a better place to bring the summer season to a close than here. Close to Royal Tunbridge Wells, the M25 and Brighton only 30 miles away, why not bring the family and make a day of it? Groombridge Place is offering all runners and families 25% off admission with lots to explore including outdoor adventure playgrounds in the Enchanted Forest, the fort and Crusoe’s World, with its authentic large wooden ship complete with rope bridges.
As with all Maverick events you can expect up to 3 on-course hydration and nutrition outposts provided by OTE, along with finisher T-shirts and medals for all competitors. There will also be prizes for the winners of each distance male and female.
