Description
TheHigh Weald Challenge 50km Ultra Trail follows the long distance paths of the High Weald Landscape Trail, the Vanguard Way, the Wealdway and the Tunbridge Wells Circular Walk. The race starts and finishes in the East Sussex village of Groombridge. The route encompasses the surrounding beauty of the Sussex countryside en route, with a small venture into the Kent countryside during the last few miles. The course is approximately 80% off-road, and as the runners travel along the picturesque and undulating routes, they will take in a great variety of landscapes containing rolling hills, irregular shaped fields and ancient woodlands, as well as experiencing spectacular views from the open heathland of the Ashdown Forest, and also cross the famous Pooh Sticks Bridge from Winnie the Pooh fame.
The High Weald Challenge 50km Ultra Trail caters for all levels of runner, whether a novice to trail running, or an experienced trail runner. The race provides a great opportunity for those runners that may have run road marathons, to again challenge themselves by running furher that the marathon distance, and on the trails, and thereby getting to experience the joy of ultra trail running, for perhaps the first time.
