Race Guide
Salcey Forest Challenge
Date / Time
Length
3.20 miles (5.1 km)
Description
The 3.2-mile loop at Salcey Forest means your race can be 5k or over 55k! You decide how many laps you're going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you're looking to cover a marathon distance you'll need to complete 9 laps (28.8 miles) and a half marathon will be 5 laps (16 miles!). This is a relatively flat course with minimal elevation changes.
It is over a varied terrain. There is some truly off road elements that are virtually impassable in the winter and there is some much more runnable cycle track. There are no road crossings, as with most of our runs, however there are bridleways and cycle paths to be aware of. The forest itself is a wonderful backdrop for a few hours of running.
Details of the route for this race are available below. Please note that the actual route on the day may vary slightly from the route mapped so please use this as a guide only.
