We are thrilled to announce a further inaugural event for 2017. The River Pursuit 6/12k will be held on the morning of Sunday 21st May.

This event will also include a 1k (for all ages and abilities) and our very own 50m (free for 5 and unders only)

We are sorry but this event is not Canicross friendly.

50m dash (Under 5’s only) – 9:40am

1k (all ages and abilities) – 9.45am

6k – 10:00am

12k – 10:05am Age limits:

6k - Minimum age: 12 years, when accompanied by a responsible adult

12k – Minimum age: 15 years old.

Registration will open at 9:00am and will be held inside the Stothert & Pitt Rugby Club on the main Bristol to Bath A4 (near The Globe pub at Newton St Loe) which can easily be accessed by bike, car and bus.

The 6k is a single loop, the 12k a two loop course. It is an amazingly diverse multi terrain route which will be held on a mixture of roadside path, the trails alongside the stunning River Avon, the Bristol to Bath Railway Path and will also transverse through the open countryside. All this whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings of the Avon Valley.

Course description: Flat and will be suitable for all standards of runner.

The start and finish will be on the Rugby Club field.

Parking and toilets: There is limited parking for 90 cars at the Rugby Club. So please, please do car share if possible or think about seeking alternative transport.

The Rugby Club boasts separate male and female changing facilities and will be open for bacon butties (£2) and tea and coffees (£1) throughout the event.

All finishers will receive a medal.

All 1k and 50m finishers will also receive a goody bag.

The 6k/12k races will be timed.

There will be 12k winner’s prizes for the following:

Overall male 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Overall female 1st, 2nd and 3rd

1st Senior male and female

1st male and female V40

1st male and female V50

1st male and female V60+

1st male and female U20

There will also be 6k trophies for the Overall male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

There will be a suitably placed water station for runners and the finishers table will be laden with its usual fruit, cake and treats.

First Aid will be in attendance and the course will be fully marshalled.
