Its been a while & I had a long wait before the gall bladder op which happened last friday.    Pleased to report a week on my recovery is swift.   The first few days were realy difficult, but my upper body strength really helped getting up & down from seats and out of bed.    I am excited about the future & cant wait to get running again.   I have several races planned for 2014 & hope to get back in training by mid November but dont intend to rush it, just take each day as it comes.

Just came across this post,i had my gallbladder removed in 2010.Two weeks later went out for a walk, bought a decent pair of trainers, and started a run/ walk programme, and still enjoying myself although still slow. With regards to after the op,i have found that not eating red meat,or any saturated fats, has made life more comfortable. So healthy eating is the way to go,if you find still have stomach problems,go back to basics, until you find if any foods trigger upset stomach.good luck :)

Chris - I wasn't sure if it was the gall baldder or the running you were missing!

Anyway, I would have thought as soon as the stitches are out and your wound repaired then you could adopt a run/walk strategy to ease back in.

As ever on these things - check with your GP/medical team as we are runners here not doctors!

Good luck and enjoy 2013

I see there were no helpful tips Chris. Are you back running again now?
