I'm 61 a midwife, live in Edinburgh & still working. I decided to get fit last year when I turned 60, so  started jogging  I'm really slow, but I love it, After some frustrated time tooling aroung websites trying to find a user-freindly UK running Log, I happened to find the Good Run Guide.  And after only a 6 day Trial I decided it's the one for me!

I was just about to post you that do 12.5 laps for a 5k (3.1 Miles) then i found out it's apparently shorter than a standard track at 387metres! See: http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/regents_park/sport.cfm

Very unusual

Andy

Hi Marge,  thanks for the advice, I will certainly follow it, as I'm new to all this I'm not really sure what is the best way to train, distance, pace, speed, sounds like a good plan to me.  I've been out again tonight, that's two 5k this week, now resting till Sat morn and going to just do a 4 miler, had some knee pain tonight so will slow it down and work on distance again instead, which was going well until the snow and Christmas, and wasn't causing any pain....think I just need slow down and take my time...
