The original Hampton Court Half Marathon is run over a fast, flat and visually interesting course that borders the river-side grounds of the magnificent Hampton Court Palace to the South West of London.
New course modifications and a wave start system will improve the race and will eliminate the short woodland trail section which became muddy this year.
2016 will be the third staging of this popular pre-Spring marathon Half which is also an enjoyable race in its own right.
Runners will enjoy the closed road loop around the picturesque village of Thames Ditton, the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Marketplace, the iconic three mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames and of course full views of Hampton Court Palace where Henry V111 will be waiting to cheer you on.
The course is very flat and runs on pavement, shared pedestrian/cycle track, riverside way, and tarmac paths through parks. The race starts at 08.30 a.m. The new wave start will give all entrants a clear run on the open public road elements. There are good local parking facilities, toilets and baggage area at the Race HQ at Esher College.
