Aspire Running Events Ltd are proud to announce the first of two events to be held this year at Old Down Country Park.

We are so sorry but this event isn’t Canicross friendly.

The Old Down Country Park 10/5k plus Family Fun Runs event will be held on Sunday 10th April 2016.

It has something to offer everyone. An exciting and exhilarating off road, 10/5k multi-terrain course for the experienced/novice longer distance runner and a 1k Family Fun Run which is great fun for all the family, this will also be open to any age group and for all abilities. We will also have our usual free under 5, 50m dash which has become so very popular and is amazing to watch.

The 5k/10k (2 loop 5k) which is a multi-terrain, off road course. It begins in the idyllic grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading out for a superb 1.5 mile woodland section which can become very muddy and challenging!! The course then takes in some fantastic open space before heading back into the woods for an uphill section leading back into the park. Then the course takes in the amazing grounds of Old Down Country Park before heading to the finish line. The 1k will also be an off road course, again taking in the beautiful grounds of the Country Park but this time will be on flat terrain. This is open to anyone of any age or ability who can either run, jog or walk around the course. This will also be buggy friendly. The under 5’s 50m will be on flat grass within the Adventure Play area of the Park.

Registration will open at 9am for competitors to collect their race packs. At 10am the fun begins. The 1k and the under 5’s 50m  will all be completed before the 10/5k races begin (Estimated start time for these is 10:30am) but we assure you these will not start until after all the Fun runs have finished.

All finishers (including the 50m entrants) will receive a medal.

There will be 10k prizes for the following categories:

Overall male 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Overall female 1st, 2nd and 3rd
1st Senior male and female
1st male and female V40
1st male and female V50
1st male and female V60+
1st male and female U20

There will also be male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall prizes for the 5k race

This event will be race timed, fully marshalled and First aid will be in attendance throughout.

There will be a half way water/nibble table for the 10k runners.

The finishers table will be laden with our usual treats, including fruit, sweets and cake!

All entrants and spectators will have free access and entry to the Country park.
