Race Details
All of Muddy Trials Races are set in the beautiful grounds of Craufurdland Castle and Estate. Starting from the imposing Craufurdland Castle the races cross fields, ford streams, meander through woodlands, and waist high through dark gooey ditches.
Probably one of the most challenging mud runs in the UK,the course uses all natural terrain, it is Very Very muddy, with ever-changing terrain ,plenty of river crossings and deep muddy ditches.
The Original series of races which take place every second spring, takes us back to the original course with all the same challenging natural obstacles and terrain. If you’ve done our other races, you know how hard it will be.
The course will be similiar to our first race which was on March 2012 which was featured on Channel 4's Country House Rescue programme in July 2012.
You can find lots of great videos of our races on our website www.craufurdland.co.uk
Camping available the night before races. Great catering and atmosphere after races. All 10k and 5k racers get free entry to Muddy Mile.
10k
The 10km course is one of the hardest races currently in Scotland, relentless and constantly changing and challenging even for the most experienced runner.
5k
The 5km course takes all the muddiest, mucky and dirty bits of the 10k course, but takes out the extra distance, leaving a tough, dirty muddy course. This race is a step towards the full 10k for younger runners, with all over 12 years old able to enter (under 18 with parental consent).
Muddy Mile
The Muddy Mile is specifically designed for the next generation of mud runners, with children of all ages welcome (with appropriate parental supervision). Plenty of mud for the youngsters, but over a short course to let little legs finish their first mud run.
