Race Guide
Larmer 20
Date / Time
Length
20.00 miles (32.2 km)
Description
Three tremendous races in one of Britain's most beautiful landscapes. From the people who brought you the Giants Head Marathon and the Ox races. We are delighted to have been invited by the Rushmore Estate to create a race in around the estates grounds. There will be hills and it could well be wet and muddy and cold and rainy or sunny who knows. We do know is there will be terrific bespoke medal for all three races and free food for all finishers post race. Because of the rising costs of tshirts and printing we have looked at food as a better option and Forking out the Estate caterers sure know how to cook. You can still buy a race tshirt in advance and pick it up on the day. Also there will be race hoodies to buy as well.
The Larmer Tree half Marathon and 20 mile are demanding off road races. Starting in the beautiful surroundings of the Larmer Tree Gardens on the Rushmore on the border of Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset. These hilly mainly off road race start and finish on the edge of the tiny Wiltshire village of Tollard Royal home of the Larmer tree gardens and fantastic scenery of the Wiltshire and Hampshire chalk downs. These races can be a standalone half and 20 or warm up for other spring marathons like the London Marathon, Paris or Ox Races in May. The Larmer Tree Marathon is the first significant off road marathon of the year. It will encompass some of the most beautiful and challenging parts of the three counties. The race will be demanding but we will look after with regular water and aid stations full medical cover and the chance of a sneaky cider and cake at "love lounge".
