Trailscape Rail to Trail series - South Half Mara

Date / Time
Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
Length 13.10 miles (21.1 km)
Description

The Rail to Trail - South event (the third in the series), brings us to East Sussex. Although actually starting and finishing in Kent, the majority of your running will be in East Sussex. We've got a spectacular course through the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty and we aim to prove to you how it lives up to this title! There are well marked routes sending you along rivers, up and down hills, along a disused railway line, through woodland and if you've signed up for the Marathon, through Ashdown Forest. Despite it's name, this is actually an incredible area of open heathland and is the largest free public access space in the South East. For you literary fans out there, you may be familiar with Ashdown Forest as the home of Winnie-the-Pooh! The tough climbs we'll send you on will reward you with some spectacular views across Sussex  and so we really can't encourage you enough to take the plunge and go for the Marathon - you will get to run through some truly incredible landscape! This really is a trail runner's delight, so sign up now to avoid the disappointment of missing out.
