Bracknell Forest 5K
Date / Time
Length
3.11 miles (5.0 km)
Description
Sebastian’s Action Trust is here to help to walk beside families of seriously-ill children, from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. We receive no government funding and so heavily rely on people supporting the trust and attending our fundraising events throughout the year so that we can continue with the work we do.
As part of our event schedule we are hosting Sebastian’s Action Trust first 5k and 10k run through Swinley Forest in Bracknell, Berkshire on Saturday 14th September. We have two distances to choose from, either 5k or 10k depending on the distance of choice and so welcome all runners from beginners to professionals. You will receive a time chip on arrival, so your time can be monitored around the course.
We encourage all participants to raise sponsorship if you can, every additional bit of sponsorship raised really does help. For example, £50 raised in sponsorship could pay for:
A seriously-ill child or their sibling to attend one of our Activity Days, giving them time away from hospitals, treatment and the inevitable disruptions to family life to enjoy special treats in the company of others who face similar challenges
Transport from home to hospital or hospice for a sick child and parent where the family does not have their own vehicle and, because of infection risk, public transport is not an option
The cost of running our indoor hydrotherapy spa pool for half a day; this facility is truly priceless as it enables seriously-ill children who cannot use public swimming facilities to wear our dry suits and enjoy time in a pool
