Please note: in accordance with UK Athletics advice, we have for several years banned headphones from this event. As a club, we have now decided to enforce this rule more rigorously, and accordingly anyone running in headphones will not be included in the results or regarded as an official finisher.

We realise the attraction of headphones, especially on a long course where you may be running sections on your own, but this race route is not closed to traffic, has four road crossings at which marshals' instructions are vital, and much of it is on country lanes where there are no footpaths.

The atmosphere at the 20-miler is always brilliant and supportive and we don't want to spoil that by having to disqualify people. Please help us avoid that by leaving your headphones at home. Thank you!
