Length 14.20 miles (22.9 km)
Description

Ross Running River Run 2014

This is the second running of the Monmouth to Ross multi-terrain event.  It is virtually all off-road along public footpaths that follow the river and comes out at just over 14 miles.  It’s not easy but it is fun.

The run will be free to enter again but with a maximum entry of 50.  All entries must be in advance by e-mail through the Ross Running website – www.ross-running.co.uk -  where there are details about last year and this year’s event.

The River Run is multi-terrain; it includes off-road and road sections as well as some footpath sections which are steep and single file. Runners need to keep their eyes open!  It’s not a course for a pb!

In short:

Ø  Past the historic Goodrich Castle

Ø  Three bridges across the River Wye

Ø  International!  Start in Wales, finish in England

Ø  Past the famous Symonds Yat rapids

Ø  Free participation!  No prizes!  No passport needed!

Ø  50 limit entry

This is a one-way route: start Monmouth, finish Ross. So if you park at Monmouth you’ll have to get back there to pick up your car.  Ross Running may do the ferrying from Ross back to Monmouth, if you need us.
