Duston Triathlon
Date / Time
Description
One of the first triathlon events in the East Midlands and the UK. This great early season sprint triathlon event attracts both experienced and first time triathletes.
The event starts with the 400m pool swim at the Duston School, followed by a 1 lap 20km bike route. The bike leg is full of cheeky little surprises, our favourite being the hill at Great Brington. But don’t worry; the bike course is in the very scenic countryside surrounding Althorpe House, so plenty to take your mind off the cycling should things get a little tough going…
The 1 lap run course brings home the event with a fast 5km finish. Despite a fairly tough bike course there is a growing number of triathletes going under the hour, highlighting the increase in quality at the top end of the field. But, it goes without saying that all abilities are welcome and if it’s your first triathlon event, we’re sure you’ll leave wanting to do more! Typically, about a third of our entrants are beginners competing in their first ever triathlon, so if you're a novice triathlete you won't be alone!
