It’s amazing to think the Mersey Tunnel 10k is now in it’s eight year having made a return to the Merseyside sporting calendar back in 2006. This is another success story with the event having disappeared altogether in 2002 when less than 700 people took part. Now in 2013 it is expected another good turn of around 3,500 will tackle the tunnel and it’s unique environment. What’s fascinating about the tunnel is that a lot of people who have never experienced it before tend to think it will be too difficult because of the incline, full of petrol fumes and will be claustrophobic – when in fact it is none of the above!
