The Mighty Deerstalker 19/03/2010 The Mighty Deerstalker is a turbo-charged roller coaster of a run. It's fun, it's fast, it's action-packed and it's as tough as you can bear. The Laird welcomes you to the Tweed Valley where water and mountains will give you pain and pleasure in the equal measure before making back to the finish line to share the tales of derring-do over a pint of Deerstalker Ale. The Mighty Deerstalker (10km) Those who are not satiated by this challenge can opt for the MIGHTY Deerstalker starting at 1730*. You too will start on loop 1 and complete a similar 5km (ish) course as above, but whereas the Deerstalker runners will cross the line in the event village and finish, you will just keep going, with your own head torch, and tear off into the dwindling twilight. The Deerstalker (5km) A loop of 5km (ish) starting and finishing at the event village, involving some steep ascent, some forest trails and some water to cross. We'll give you obstacles to test your nerve and there will be plenty of gradient to test your resolve. However, you're never far from home and when you return to the rapturous applause of your supporters in the event village, you'll feel a great sense of achievement from having run the gauntlet of the Deerstalker. The fun does not end when the race does. Oh no, there's more in store from the Laird and his Ghillie. Whether you choose to stay locally or in the tented Deerstalker village, we invite you to join us as we make merry in the “Beerstalker” party tent on Saturday night, where the ales will be flowing and the music will be playing. The Mighty Deerstalker is Part of the Notorious Night Run Series The Notorious Night Run Series is a collection of high-octane outdoors running events with darkness, challenging terrain and obstacles designed to keep you pushed to the limit. The courses will take you from the Start Line in the hustle and bustle of the event village onto an unforgiving 10km course* interspersed with natural and man made obstacles every kilometre. You may negotiate water, dense vegetation, and rocky terrain throughout your travels on the course, armed for unexpected twists and turns at every corner.
